Hello! Peninsula Women’s Network!
Let me begin by wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving. My hope for you is that your day is filled with love, family, friends, joy, peace, and delicious food that nourishes your body!
For me, Thanksgiving is a time of reflection, a time for giving thanks and the signifies the kick off to the holiday season. Although, I have to confess, I’ve been listening to Christmas music for several weeks now! Typically, I wait until after Thanksgiving but I realized that what I love about this time of year is the “spirit” of the season and listening to Christmas carols puts me in the holiday spirit! Plus, Christmas music makes me happy and gives me all the feels!! And why wouldn’t I want to do something that makes me happy because let’s be honest, there is plenty of sadness and negativity in our lives. So, given a choice – I choose happiness!!
Did you know that being happy has health benefits? It’s true! You can find lots of great information regarding the benefits of being happy on the internet, in articles and even books written on the topic of happiness. Check out the article below:
What to know a secret? Truthfully, it’s probably not much of a secret anymore but if you are anything like me, you may need a reminder from time to time! Here goes…
“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” – Amy Collette
So, I ask you…what are you grateful for? Take some time to reflect and journal all that you have to be grateful for today and every day! Did you know that scientists have proven that one of the greatest contributing factors of happiness is how much gratitude you show! And as you know, what “we focus on expands, so when we focus on the goodness in our lives, the more of it you create!” – Oprah Winfrey.
I’ve attached a cute clip that reminds us of all that we have to be grateful for…enjoy! https://youtu.be/YTnopeZnLEI
