Welcome to PWN Membership
We are a friendly, energized and participative membership; get to know us better at one of our Monday evening programs.
There is lots to learn so feel free to to comeback to this page or contact our Vice President for Membership, Liz Urban at eaurban@hotmail.com. Let's get started . . .
NETWORKING ON THE ONLINE DIRECTORY
Using our online directory is going to make it easy for you to update your contact information, find the right people who you want to talk to, and overall improve the effectiveness of your networking.
LOGIN: On every page of our website, you'll find the login below the navigation on the left. Use the USERNAME & PASSWORD provided to you in an email from the VP Membership. Forgot your info? Then send an email to memberinfo@peninsulawomensnetwork.org and request the info again.
UPDATE YOUR PROFILE: After logging into the directory, click on My Profile in the top navigation. Click on EDIT to make changes. After you have made your changes (including changing your password), don't forget to click on SAVE at the bottom of the page. Your profile is how the rest of the membership learns about you and is able to communicate with you. Be sure to keep it up to date.
SENDING EMAILS TO THE DIRECTORY: Please read through the Directory Guidelines BEFORE you send your first email.
OPPORTUNITIES TO NETWORK
NEWSLETTER: PWN publishes a monthly newsletter. The newsletter has the calendar for the upcoming month as well as great networking information and info on past activities.
NEWSLETTER ARCHIVES: The archives are a Members Only privledge. You received the unique password for the newsletter archives with your welcome email. Please send an email to memberinfo@peninsulawomensnetwork.org and request the info again.
SIX THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND FOR NOW
1-Please use email etiquette with common sense and respect for our purposes and do not mass email jokes or political discussions. If you use appropriate email etiquette, you will get more from PWN than you may have anticipated when you joined.
2-Making announcements about your business if fine; be sure to to precede the subject with PWN.
3-GET INVOLVED. In your profile, go to PWN Focus Group and Volunteer Activity Interests; hold the Control key down to select more than one option. These are two important fields of information. Then get involved in those activities!
4-Be aware that certain fields, like telephone numbers display a preferred option format. Telephone numbers for example are XXX-XXX-XXXX so you would enter your number 757-XXX-XXXX.
5-It's a good idea to change your password to something you will remember.
6-And finally...Networking is about creating relationships that encourage you to give and reward you for your efforts by getting you help and/or referrals in return.
GET INVOLVED; attend the meetings you can, contact members you want to know and get ready to be part of something you will always be grateful for!
Our leads groups are one of the BEST ways to jump right into networking with PWN. We allow one member per profession and they operate similarly, not as structured, as BNI if you are familiar with that. Learn more on the Leads Group page.
Thank you for helping to make PWN grow stronger, better and more effective for our personal and professional development.
Regards,
Liz Urban
